- 10 Apples Up On Top by Dr. Seuss
- White Card Stock or Copy Paper
- Laminator and Laminating Pouches
- Scissors
- Dice
To prepare this book-inspired activity, fill out the form below to get the printable apples, tiger, and lion. I like to print my resources on white card stock, because it is more durable. But, you can use copy paper too.
After printing, laminate the printables and cut the all of the pieces apart. You can store the pieces in a pencil pouch or box for an easy math activity to set-up.
How To Play The Apples Up On Top Addition Game:
After reading the book 10 Apples Up On Top by Dr. Seuss, your kids will pick either the tiger or the lion for their animal. Next, they will roll a die and identify the number.
Then, your children will count that number of apples and stack them on top of their animal’s head.
After placing the apples on the tiger or lion, your kids will roll a die again and identify the number. Next, they will count that number of apples and stack them on top of the animal’s head.
Finally, your children will count the number of apples together to find the sum of the two numbers.
