To prepare this Christmas game, fill out the form below to get the printables in your inbox. After receiving the email, click on the button to download and print the printables. I like to print my resources on white card stock, because it is more durable. But, you can use copy paper too.
Next. laminate the mat or place it in a dry erase pocket, so your kids can reuse this activity over and over.
After preparing the mat, pick which die you want to use. One has a Christmas tree with different amounts of ornaments that your kids have to count. The other one has an ornament with a number on it.
You may want two copies of the ornament that you pick so your kids can roll both at the same time. Then, cut it out, fold the tabs, and glue or tape it together to create a cube.
For the Christmas ornaments, your kids can also use play dough, pom poms, or any other small manipulative. They can also draw the ornaments using a dry erase marker.
How To Play The Christmas Ornament Addition Game:
To begin playing this Christmas game, your kids will roll a die and identify the number. Next, they will count that number of pom poms and put them on the tree. They will then write that number in the first box.
Next, your kids will roll again and identify the number. They will count that number of pom poms and place them on the tree. Your children will write the number in the second box.
Finally, they will add the two numbers together and write the sum in the third box. Your kids can also write the problem and answer on the recording sheet.
