How To Make A Craft Stick Bumble Bee:
As with all of our crafts and projects, adult supervision is required!
To begin making this Spring craft for kids, glue 7 mini popsicle sticks together.
Next, paint the popsicle sticks yellow and allow them to dry completely. After the paint dries, paint every other popsicle stick black and allow them to dry completely.
While the paint is drying, cut the flat part of a clean, plastic milk jug out. Next, draw a wing shape onto cardstock and cut out. Then, trace the wing shape onto the plastic and cut out. After cutting the wing out, repeat the steps above but with a smaller wing shape. You will want to reverse the wing shape for the other side of the bee.
After cutting the wings out, cut a pipe cleaner into 4 pieces and twirl the ends.
Next, glue the pipe cleaners onto the back of the bee. Then, glue googly eyes at the top of the bee.
After gluing on the antenna and eyes, glue the large wings onto the bee first followed by the smaller wings on top of the large wings.
Finally, draw a smile with black and red paint pens.
This Craft Stick Bumble Bee Craft is a fun Spring project for your kids to create! It’s a great way for children to work on their fine motor skills and perfect addition to your bee units. Once you get started making these adorable bees, you just can’t stop. Before you know it, you’ve created an entire bee colony!
