This activity combines hands-on learning with sensory play to create an engaging way for young learners to practice letter recognition.

- 26 Lowercase Letter Fossil Cards
- 1 Lowercase Letter Recording Sheets
What Else Is Needed:
- Card Stock
- Paper
- Laminator
- Laminating Sheets
- Scissors
- Sensory Bin
- Sensory Bin Filler
- BINGO Dauber or Crayons
To prepare this activity ready for your students, fill out the form at the bottom of this page to get the printables.
Next, download and print 2 copies of the fossil cards on card stock. Then, print the recording sheet on paper.
After printing, laminate the fossil cards and cut them out. You can also make as many copies of the recording sheet that you need.

For the sensory bin, fill a plastic container with filler such as kinetic sand, shredded paper, or pom poms.
Next, place the fossil cards in the sensory bin.
How to Use the Dinosaur Dig Letter Matching Activity:
First, your students will pick a fossil card out of the sensory bin and identify the lowercase letter on it.

Next, they will search through the other cards to find the matching letter.

When your kids find the 2 matching cards, they will color the letter on their recording sheet with a BINGO dauber.

Your students will continue to identify and match all of the lowercase letters until all of the circles are colored.
