  • 26 Capital Letter Bones with Meat
  • 26 Lowercase Letter Bones with Meat

What Else Is Needed:

  • White Card Stock or Copy Paper 
  • Scissors 
  • Paper Bag or Cardboard Box
  • Glue

Next, download and print the dinosaur and pieces of meat.

Learning the ABC's

If you want your kids to reuse this activity, you may want to laminate the dinosaur and pieces of meat. After laminating, cut out all the pieces.

Then, tape or glue the dinosaur on a paper bag or cardboard box (such as a small tissue box) and cut its mouth out. 

How To Use The Dinosaur Letter Recognition Activity:

For this letter activity, your preschoolers will select a piece of meat and identify the capital or lowercase letter on it as they “feed” it to the dinosaur.

If your pre-readers have just started learning the names of the letters, start with just a few capital or lowercase letters.

After they can confidently identify those letters, add a few more letters every time your kids play.

This Dinosaur Letter Recognition Activity is a fun, hands-on way for your pre-readers to practice naming capital and lowercase letters.

How Can I Differentiate This Letter Recognition Activity? 

After your kids know all of the letter names, they can practice saying the sound that each letter makes as they feed the dinosaur.

They can also practice finding the letters and spelling their names, sight words, and CVC words. This alphabet activity can easily be differentiated for all your learners!
