How To Use The Find the Beginning Sound Preschool Worksheets:
To begin this beginning sounds activity, your kids will look at the first picture on the worksheet and say the word. They will then color or cover the letter that the picture begins with.
For example, your kids will see the picture of the cake and then they will mark the letter “c.”
They will continue marking the initial sounds for all of the pictures until they finish the worksheet.
On the first worksheet, the pictures are cake, sun, kite, umbrella, yo-yo, gift, pig, ant, and watermelon.
The pictures on the second worksheet are bee, turtle, igloo, xylophone, envelope, dinosaur, rocket, zebra, and magnet.
On the last printable, the pictures include volcano, leaf, net, heart, jar, anchor, fire, quarter, and octopus. The picture of the anchor is the only vowel that has the long sound. The ant on the first worksheet has the short “a” sound.
Can These Preschool Worksheets Be Reused?
You can definitely create this activity so that it can be reused by your students. First, print the worksheets on card stock because the thicker paper is more durable.
Next, laminate the worksheets so your kids can use them over and over. You can also place them in dry erase pockets. Then, you can store the laminated worksheets with small manipulatives in a plastic container for a literacy center or morning tub.
