Flower Parts Play Dough Mat:
What is a sensory activity? It is anything that your kids can play with that stimulates their five senses: touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing. Though sensory play, your kids can explore, investigate, and discover new things.
This can help them develop critical thinking, problem solving, and many more important skills. Adding sensory activities to a unit is a great way to learn about things like the parts of a flower in a different way too.
What Are The Benefits Of Playing With Play Dough?
Play dough is one of my favorite sensory play tools because your kids can use their senses as they squeeze, roll, and squish it with their hands.
It’s a fun way for kids to develop their fine motor skills and hand muscle strength too. These developmental skills are so important for pre-readers and pre-writers.

How To Use The Flower Parts Play Dough Mat:
After reading a book like From Seed to Plant by Gail Gibbons and learning all about the parts of a plant, your kids will use play dough to create the flower parts (roots, stem, leaf, flower, petal, and seeds) on this mat.
There are two different versions of the mat. One has the labels for the parts of a flower. On the other one, your child can write and label the parts using a dry erase marker.
