The first set of words are those don’t follow the phonics “rules” so kids need to memorize them. There are also high frequency word that are commonly used in writing.

It is easier for kids to remember them, so they can build fluency and don’t have to sound them out every time they are reading.

Getting Ready To Play The Kindergarten Sight Word Bingo Game:

What’s Included:

  • 5 Sight Word Bingo Cards
  • 44 Sight Word Calling Cards 

What Else Is Needed:

  • Card Stock or Copy Paper
  • Scissors
  • Bingo Marker
  • Laminator and Laminating Pouches

To prepare this sight word activity, fill out the form below and click on the button to automatically download and print the bingo cards and calling cards.

I like to print this resource on colored card stock, because it is more durable. But, you can use copy paper too.

Next, laminate the cards so your kids can use them over and over. Then, cut the calling cards apart. 

How To Play The Kindergarten Sight Word Bingo Game:

To begin playing this sight word bingo game, your children will each select a bingo card.

You may want to review the sight words on the cards before playing, so your kids can practice reading any unknown words.

Next, you or the bingo caller will select a calling card and read the sight word on it.

Your children will then look for the sight word on their bingo card. If they have the sight word on their card, they will cover it with a marker. 

Sight Word Activity

For bingo markers, you can use mini erasers, pom poms, two-color counters, or any other small manipulative.

If you are making this activity reproducible by printing the bingo cards on copy paper, you can have your kids use do-a-dot markers or bingo daubers. 

This Kindergarten Sight Word Bingo is an engaging and educational bingo game for kids to play in small groups, with a partner, or even by themselves as an enrichment activity.
