Next up in our Letter of the Week series is the Letter C! In class, my students came up with so many fantastic words that begin with the letter C from cat to car to cow. But for our letter of the week craft, I thought it would be fun do create something that would go along with a circus theme so we created this Letter C Clown Craft today.
How To Make A Letter C Clown Craft:
What’s Needed:
Letter C and Clown Templates
Printer
Craft Foam
Glue
Scissors
Black Marker
Paper or Card Stock
Googly Eyes
How To Make It:
To prepare for this activity, download the letter C and clown templates (click on the button below) and print it onto paper or card stock. Next, cut the letter templates out. If you are making these with a group of children, you may want to make a few letter templates. I usually make one or two per table so the students can share.
To begin the activity, your students will trace the letter C onto a piece of craft foam and cut it out. Next, they will trace the clown template onto flesh toned craft foam and cut it out. Your kids will then trace the details of the clown’s face onto various colors of craft foam and cut it out.
After cutting all of the pieces out, your students will glue the pieces of the clown’s face into place. Next, they will glue on googly eyes onto the clown and use a black marker to add a smile to the clown’s face. Your kids will then glue the clown onto the letter C.
To add more details to the craft, your students will cut circles from various colors of craft foam and glue them to the letter C.
This Letter C Clown Craft is a fun way to learn about the third letter of the alphabet. It will also be a great addition to your Letter of the Week or Circus units.
