March sure is coming “in like a lion…” in the Midwest! If you are looking for some indoor activities for your kids on cold days, this Lion’s Mane Cutting Activity is perfect of this time of the year!
Lion’s Mane Cutting Activity:
This cutting resource helps your kids develop essential developmental skills. It is a super fun way for kids to work on fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, and more.
Why are these skills important for your children to develop? When your kids work on fine motor skills, they will improve their hand control and strength. This will help them to hold a pencil, write, and even turn pages in a book.
Getting Ready To Use The Lion’s Mane Cutting Activity:
What’s Included:
- Parts of a Lion Printables
What Else Is Needed:
- White Card Stock or Copy Paper
- Scissors for Kids
- Glue
To prepare this fine motor activity, click on the pencil below to download and print parts of a lion on either card stock or copy paper. I like to print my resources on white card stock, because it is more durable. But, copy paper will be easier for your kids to cut. There is one page where the parts are separated and one where they are together.
How To Use The Lion’s Mane Cutting Activity:
First, your kids will cut out the lion’s head or all of the parts (head, muzzle, nose, and eyes.) If they are just learning how to hold scissors and cut, you may want to cut the lion’s head out for your child. The purpose of this activity is to practice cutting straight lines on the mane. Next, they will glue the head onto the lion’s mane.
Your kids will then cut the dotted lines on the lion’s mane.
This Lion’s Mane Cutting Activity is a fun way for your kids to develop their fine motor skills, hand muscle strength, hand eye coordination, and more!
