How to Use the Mailbox CVC Words Activity:
For this word work activity, your students will first pick a mailbox card and identify the picture on it.
Next, they will sort through all of the envelope cards until they find the word that matches the picture.
If your kids select the mailbox card with the picture of the cab, for example, they will then look for the envelope that says “cab.”
If your children are just starting to learn how to read CVC words, give them a few cards at a time until they learn the words.
You can add more words every time they do this activity and become confident reading the consonant-vowel-consonant words.
Your kids will continue matching the pictures and CVC words together until they match all of the mailboxes and envelopes.
