Not only is this book companion activity a hands-on way to practice identifying and matching capital and lowercase letters.

But, your young learners will also work on develop their fine motor skills as they color or cover the pieces of popcorn on their recording sheet.

• White Card Stock
• White Copy Paper
• Scissors
• Popcorn Mini Erasers
• Bingo Dauber

To prepare this letter recognition activity for your kids, fill out the form at the bottom of this page.

After receiving the email with the printables, download and print the capital letter mouse cards on white card stock.

You may want to laminate the cards before cutting them apart too.

Then, print the recording sheet on white copy paper. You can make as many copies as you need for your students.

How to Use the If You Take a Mouse to the Movies Letter Activity:

After reading the book If You Take a Mouse to the Movies book by Laura Numeroff, your kids will pick a mouse card and identify the capital letter on it.

Next, they will search the matching lowercase letter on their recording sheet.

When your young learners find the letter, they will color with a Bingo dauber or crayons.

They can also cover the letters with a small manipulative such as popcorn mini erasers, yellow pom poms, or snap cubes.

Your preschoolers and kindergarteners will continue selecting cards and finding the letters on the recording sheets until they complete the activity.
