What’s Needed:
- Blue Gravel
- Play Sand
- Mini Plastic Ocean Animals
- Seashells
- Mini Plastic Sea Plants
- Plastic Container
- White Card Stock or Copy Paper
- Laminator and Laminating Pouches
- Scissors
How To Set-Up:
To set-up this sensory bin, pour the blue gravel on one side of a plastic container but leave a bit of space for play sand. Next, add play sand to the other side of the container. Then, put the seashells and the mini plastic sea plants in the play sand. After preparing the sand side of the container, add the mini plastic ocean animals to the blue gravel. For even more sensory fun, pour some water in the gravel. The sand will get wet and your can make tiny little castles.
To prepare the ocean animal cards, enter your email address in the box below to download and print the cards. I like to print my resources on white card stock, because it is more durable. But, you can use copy paper too. Next, laminate the cards so your kids can use them over and over and cut them apart.
How To Use The Ocean Animal Sensory Bin:
With all the different animal included in this sensory bin, it’s a fun way to teach your kids about all the different animals that live in the ocean. The ocean is a habitat unlike any other on Earth. From sharks to crabs, there are so many amazing and unique creatures that call the ocean home.
To use the animal cards, your kids can pick a card and identify the animal on it. They can then find that animal in the sensory bin. You can talk about the characteristics of each animal and their life in the ocean.
