What You'll Find On This Page
Plant Needs Play Dough Mat:
Though sensory play, your kids can explore, investigate, and discover new things. This can help them develop critical thinking, problem solving, and many more important skills.
What Are The Benefits Of Playing With Play Dough?
Play dough is one of my favorite sensory play tools because your kids can use their senses as they squeeze, roll, and squish it with their hands.
It’s a fun way for kids to develop their fine motor skills and hand muscle strength too. These developmental skills are so important for pre-readers and pre-writers.

How To Use The Plant Needs Play Dough Mat:
After reading a book like From Seed to Plant by Gail Gibbons and learning all about plants, your kids will use this play dough mat to create the things that they need to grow.
First, your children will use yellow play dough create the the sun, because plants need light.
Next, they will make a rain cloud using white and blue play dough, because all living things need water to survive.
Just like us, plants also need air to live, so your kids will use white play dough to create the wind.
Then, your children will grey, white, and red play dough to create a thermometer, because plants need just the right temperature to grow.
The last thing that your kids will make out of play dough for the plant’s needs is nutrients.
This Plant Needs Play Dough Mat is a fun way for your kids use their senses as they are learning all about the things that plants need to grow. It would be a great addition your science unit about nature or living things.
