Are you looking for reading activities for your kids to do this February? Get this free printable Valentine’s Day CVC Words Activity!
With Valentine’s day literacy activities like this one, your young learners can practice decoding consonant-vowel-consonant words.
It’s a fun, themed resource to add to your morning tubs, literacy centers, or early finishers bins.
After your kids can identify the letters of the alphabet by their names and sounds, they can start to read simple words.
CVC words are made up of three letters- a beginning sound, a middle sound, and an ending sound.
Your students can use their pre-reading skills to blend the sounds together and read the words.

If your kids select the mailbox card with the picture of the cat, for example, they will then look for the envelope that says “cat.”
