ABC's of Literacy

These Color Words Clip Cards are a great way for your young learners to practice identifying color words while also developing fine motor skills.

This free printable includes 44 cards. There are 4 cards for each color: red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, pink, black, white, gray, and brown.

These color word cards can be used as an independent or guided resource in any early elementary classroom or homeschool.

Step 1:

First, your young learners will select a card and identify the color of the picture.

Step 2:

Next, they will find the color word below the picture and clip a clothespin on it.

If your kids, for example, pick the card with the strawberry. They will attach the clothespin on the card over the word “red.”

Step 3:

Your children will continue working through the other cards, matching the color of the picture to the word.
