ABC's of Literacy

If you’re looking for a farm-themed alphabet resource, grab this free printable Cow Letter Recognition Activity!

If your kids are learning the ABC’s, they can use this fun, hands-on resource to practice naming capital and lowercase letters.

You can use this low-prep activity in your classroom or homeschool on Cow Appreciation Day or add it to your farm unit.

Step 1:

First, visit ABC's of Literacy to download the free printables. Then, print the resource.

Step 2:

Next, cut out the cow and grass. Glue the cow to a paper bag and cut out its mouth.

Step 3:

You can sort the cards into groups with a few in each and have your children work on one at a time.

Step 4:

Your kids will pick a card and say the name of the capital or lowercase letter on it as they put it into the packet.

Step 5:

If your children know the letter names, they can practice saying the sounds they make too.
