ABC's of Literacy

Looking for a fun alphabet activity for your preschoolers or kindergarteners?  Grab this free printable  Letter A Book!

Alphabet books are a fun way for young children to practice letter recognition and beginning sounds. They will work on writing and fine motor skills too.

Step 1:

First, your kids will identify the capital and lowercase letters on the cover of their book and read, “Letter Aa Book.”

Step 2:

Next, they can say the sounds that the letter makes, color the capital and lowercase letters, and write their name on the cover.

Step 3:

Then, your children will turn the page and read, “Aa is for apple.” They will then color the picture of the apple and trace the word.

Step 4:

After reading the first page, they will read, “Aa is for acorn” on the second page, color the picture, and trace the word.

Step 5:

Finally, your beginning readers will turn the page and read, “Aa is for ant.”  They will color the picture and trace the word.
