This Pumpkin Beginning Sounds Sort Activity is an engaging and entertaining way for your kids to practice identifying initial sounds this autumn.

Step 1:

For this beginning sounds activity, your children will first pick a wagon.

Step 2:

They will then identify the letter on it and say the sound that the letter makes.

Step 3:

Next, your kids will sort through the pumpkins to find the ones that begin with the sound that the letter makes.

Step 4:

When they find a pumpkin, your young learners will put it “in” their wagon.

Step 5:

They will continue sorting through the pumpkins until they have found all five.

Tip:

If your children have just begun learning the letter sounds, start with just one or two wagons.
