Kick-off the beginning of summer with this picnic-themed Watermelon Alphabet Sensory Bin!

Hands-on activities like this one are a fun way for kids to work on learning the ABC’s and add more sensory play into your day.

Step 1:

First, print the free printable watermelon seeds and recording sheets. Cut the seeds apart.

Step 2:

Next, fill a sensory bin with red or pink colored rice. Put the watermelon seeds in the sensory bin.

Step 3:

For this alphabet activity, your kids will pick a watermelon seed out of the bin and identify the letter on it.

Step 4:

Then, they will mark the letter that they picked on their recording sheet by coloring in the circle.

Step 5:

Your preschoolers and kindergarteners will continue marking the letters until they find them all.
