Preschool Letter Recognition

If you want your children to reuse this activity, laminate the printables. Then, cut the giraffe and leaves out.

Finally, tape or glue the giraffe onto a paper bag or cardboard box (such as a small tissue box) and cut out its mouth.

How To Use The Zoo Letter Recognition Activity:

To begin this alphabet activity, your preschoolers and kindergarteners will select a leaf card.

They will then say the name of the capital or lowercase letter on it as they “feed” it to the giraffe.

Letter Recognition Practice

If your pre-readers have just started learning the names of the letters, start with just a few cards. You can add more as their letter recognition increases.

They can also work on saying the letter sounds as they feed the giraffe.
