This hands-on resource can be used in any early elementary classroom or homeschool as a independent morning tub or literacy center.
You can turn this resource into a file folder activity and attach Velcro to the rain cloud picture cards and raindrop letter cards.

What’s Included:
- 10 Rain Cloud Picture Cards
- 31 Raindrop Letter Cards
The pictures included are bat, cab, web, jet, fin, dip, dog, box, tub, and mud.
What Else Is Needed:
- White Card Stock
- Laminator
- Laminating Pouches
- Scissors
To get this CVC words activity ready, scroll down to the bottom of the page and fill out the form.
Next, download and print the picture and letter cards on white card stock or copy paper.

Then, laminate the cards and cut out the clouds and raindrops.
How to Use the Rain CVC Words Activity:
First, your students will select a rain cloud card and identify the picture.

Next, they will sort through the raindrop cards to find the picture’s beginning sound.

Then, your kids will sort through the cards to find the middle and ending sounds.

They will place all of the raindrops under the cloud to spell the CVC word.

Your young learners can continue identifying sounds and spelling CVC words until they complete the activity.
