With both capital and lowercase letters, this alphabet recognition activity can easily be differentiated for your students.

Your kids can practice naming one set of letters at a time or you can mix them together. They can also practice saying the letter sounds.

What Else Is Needed:

To get this alphabet activity ready for your kids, fill out the form at the bottom of this page.

Then, download and print the turtle and seagrass cards.

Alphabet Activity for Preschool

Next, laminate the sea turtle and seagrass cards and cut all of the pieces out.

Finally, tape or glue the sea turtle on a paper bag or cardboard box (such as a small tissue box) and cut the mouth out. 

How To Use The Sea Turtle Letter Recognition Activity:

To use this letter recognition activity, your students will pick a seagrass card and say the name of the capital or lowercase letter on it as they feed it to the sea turtle.

Letter Activity for Preschool

If your kids have just begun learning the names of the letters, start with just a few cards from either the lowercase or capital letter sets.

You can then add more cards as they become more confident identifying the letters of the alphabet. You can also mix the letters together and have them work on both.

Learning the ABC's

After your children knows all the letter names, they can practice saying the sound that each one makes or a word that begins with that letter.
