Get ready for the start of the new year with these free printable Back to School Letter Maze Worksheets!
Your preschoolers and kindergarteners will love going through the mazes from start to finish, identifying capital and lowercase letters along the way.
School literacy activities like this one are a great way to review letter recognition and get kids excited for the school year ahead!
As they go through the mazes, your pre-readers can see the difference between capital and lowercase letters.
This will help them learn to identify letters by their shapes. By doing this, your kids will develop visual discrimination skills and pre-reading skills.
These skills are essential as your preschoolers and kindergarteners learn how to read and write.

How to Use the Back to School Alphabet Worksheets:
To begin this alphabet activity, your children will first identify and trace the capital and lowercase letters at the top of their worksheet.
Next, they will say the name of the school supply. You can tell your students that it begins with the letter sound too.
Then, your kids will find the “start” or the first box on the worksheets and color in the square with a Bingo dauber or crayon.
They can also cover the boxes with small manipulatives such as mini erasers, pom poms, or counters.
If you laminated the printables or placed them in dry erase pockets, your children can use a dry erase marker to draw a line through the maze.
Your pre-readers will continue to color or cover the capital and lowercase letters through the maze until they reach the “finish.”
These Back to School Letter Maze Worksheets are a simple way for your preschoolers and kindergarteners to practice letter recognition at the start of the new year.
