Next, laminate the printables so your children can use them over and over. Finally, cut the puzzle pieces apart.

You can store the puzzle pieces in a pencil box or pouch for an easy to setup literacy activity. 

How To Use The Christmas Tree Initial Sound Puzzles:

For this phonics activity, your preschoolers and kindergarteners will select a puzzle piece and identify the lowercase letter on it. They will then say the sound that letter makes.

Next, your kids will sort through the puzzle pieces with the pictures on them and find the one that has a picture that begins with that sound. 

Then, your children will put the two pieces together to make a Christmas tree.

Your beginning readers will continue to match the letters to the correct pictures until they have put all the Christmas tree puzzles together.
