Snowy Day Letter Clip Cards

Are you looking for winter literacy activities for your kids? Grab these free printable Snowy Day Letter Clip Cards.

After reading the book The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats, your students will work on letter recognition by matching capital letters in this activity.

It’s a fun, hands-on way for them to work on visual discrimination and fine motor skills this winter too.

Book Companion Activity

One of the most important skills that your kids need to learn is letter recognition. One way to practice is by matching capital letters.

This can help them to become familiar with the shapes of the letters and learn the ABC’s.

By providing your students with opportunities to practice letter recognition, we can help them develop critical literacy skills.

They will then look at the three capital letters on the snowflakes and find the matching one.

Next, your young learners will clip a clothespin on the card to cover the letter.

If you marked the answer on the back of the card, your children can flip it over and check to see if they clipped the clothespin on the correct spot.

Your kids can also cover the letters will small manipulatives such as mini erasers or white pom poms.

They will continue working through the other cards in the set, identifying and matching the capital letters.
