Next, laminate the printables and cut the cards apart.

How To Use The St. Patrick’s Day Syllable Activity:

First, your students will select a card and identify the picture on it.

The pictures are hat, boot, flag, harp, clover, rainbow, horseshoe, music, ladybug, umbrella, leprechaun, and butterfly.

Next, they will count the number of syllables in the word. For example, “rainbow” has two syllables.

Then, your kids will cover that number of gold coins with a small manipulative such as gold coins, mini erasers, or pom poms.

They can also use play dough and squish it as they count the number of syllables in the word.
