It’s National Pig Day! Celebrate with your preschoolers by making this Letter P Pig Craft! It’s a simple craft for your kids to create when they are learning the ABC’s.
Letter P Pig Craft:
Not only is this letter craft a fun letter recognition activity, but creating projects like this one can also be a great way for kids to develop their fine motor skills.
When creating this craft, your preschoolers will be working on listening and following directions too.
What Are Fine Motor Skills?
Fine motor skills are things that children do that involve the coordination between small muscles, like those of the hands and fingers, with their eyes.
From holding a pencil to turning the pages in a book, kids use their fine motor skills as they are learning to read and write.

What Else Is Needed:
To get this letter craft ready for your preschoolers to create, click on the button below to download and print either the black and white or color template. I like to print my resources on white card stock because it is durable, but you can use copy paper too.
This simple craft can easily be made in any early childhood classroom, homeschool, childcare center, or with any other group of children. All you need to do is make copies of the templates and gather crayons, scissors, and glue.
How To Make The Letter P Pig Craft:
To begin making this letter craft, your kids will color the capital letter P, snout, and ears if you are using the black and white templates.
We colored our pig pink, but your kids can pick any color. You can show your kids pictures of pigs so they can see that they are also brown, black, and white.
After coloring, your preschoolers will cut out the letter P, snout, ears, and eyes. They will then glue the snout, ears, and eyes onto the letter P.
As an option, your kids can curl a strip of paper, pipe cleaner, or ribbon to make a curly tail for your pig too.
After your children create their pigs, you can hang them around your classroom or in the hallway for the whole school to see.
This Letter P Pig Craft is a fun letter recognition activity for your preschoolers to create when they are learning all about the capital letter P.
