There is one picture card for every letter of the alphabet. There is also a card with a picture that ends with the letter X and 5 cards with pictures that begin with long vowel sounds.
What Else Is Needed:
To get this beginning sounds activity ready for your students to use, fill out the form below.
After receiving the email with the resource, download and print the cards on white card stock.
If you want your kids to be able to check their answers, put a dot or put a sticker on the back of the card where the clothespin will be after they clip it.
Then, laminate the cards and cut them apart. You can store these cards and clothespins in a small box or pouch.
How to Use the Reindeer Beginning Sounds Clip Cards:
First, your students will select a card and identify the picture on the reindeer’s sign.
Next, they will identify the sound that the picture begins with and the letter that makes that sound.
Then, your kids will clip a clothespin on the letter.
If you marked the answer on the back of the card, they can check to see if they clipped the clothespin on the correct spot.
Your young learners can also cover the letters will small manipulatives such as mini erasers, pom poms, or snap cubes.
They will continue to identify the letter sounds as they working through the other cards in the set.
