Valentine’s Day Writing Craft

Your kids will love celebrating the upcoming holiday with this cute and creative Valentine’s Day Writing Craft!

With this low-prep project, your students will write about the things or people that they love “beary” much.

Valentine Writing Activity

From a word web to vocabulary cards, this complete writing craft comes with every to help your students with their writing process.

As they color, cut, and glue the craft together, they will also be working on developing their fine motor skills which is very important for young writers.

What Else Is Needed:

To get this activity ready for your students, print the word web, bear craft templates, writing paper, vocabulary cards, and bulletin board letters on paper or card stock and make as many copies as you need.

The bear craft is in brown, pink, and black & white, and each one comes with and without the “Love You Beary Much!”

Valentine's Day Writing Activity

The hearts are in color and black & white. They come with and without the writing lines.

There are 3 different types of writing paper- one with just lines, one with lines and space to draw a picture, and one with hearts for single word responses. Each writing paper includes two different types of lines.

How to Use the Valentine Writing Craftivity:

First, your students can use the word web and vocabulary words for prewriting and brainstroming ideas. You can do this as a whole group or they can do it independently.

Next, your kids will color (if you are using the black and white template,) cut out, and glue the parts of the bear together.

They will then write what they like or love on the hearts, cut them out, and glue them on their bear.

After creating the bear craft, your kids can write more about the people and things that they love on the writing paper.

Then, you can create a cute Valentine’s day display with your students’ bear crafts and the bulletin board letters WE LOVE YOU “BEARY” MUCH!
