The dinosaurs included are Allosaurus, Ankylosaurs, Brachiosaurus, Ichthyosaurus, Iguanodon, Plesiosaurus, Pteranodon, Saurolophus, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Velociraptor.

What’s Else Is Needed:

  • White Card Stock or Copy Paper
  • Laminator
  • Laminating Pouches
  • Play Dough
  • Dry Erase Marker

Then, download and print the playdough mats that you want to use on white card stock.

Next, laminate the mats or put them in reusable dry erase pockets.

Letter Mats

If you don’t want to use store-bought playdough, try making our Kool-Aid Play Dough. This sensory-friendly recipe smells so sweet and is soft to touch. 

How to Use the Dinosaur Play Dough Mats:

To begin this activity, your kids will pick a mat and identify the capital and lowercase letters on it. They will then form the letters using play dough.

Learning the ABC's

Next, your preschoolers will trace the capital and lowercase letters using a dry erase marker.

If your students are just starting to learn how to write, this is a fun way for them to practice letter formation.

Letter Recognition Activity

Then, your children will identify the dinosaur. (They may need help with this part.)

Together, you can use books such as My First Dinosaur Encyclopedia to learn more about the dinosaurs.
